Zion National Park was a common date destination when I was in high school. We went there all the time. I realized a while ago that my kids have never been there! So...since we were going to be down for my sister's wedding, one of my greatest friends and I planned to get our families together and make a day trip to Zion.
Although the day started out looking like rain, it turned out beautifully! We brought Subway and had a little picnic before catching the shuttle to do some hiking.

...and one hiker was all tuckered out. Hiking while carrying a baby = hard. Hiking while carrying a sleeping baby = harder.
Being the dad and carrying the baby on your shoulders = not hard at all. Being Isaac and getting packed all day = very easy.
Levi decided he wanted to be a hiker when he grows up. He loved every minute of it and wanted to keep going. We kept telling him that the further he went up, the further he would have to hike to get back down, but that didn't deter him. He was still frustrated when we finally made him turn around on our last hike.

We were staying at Grandma's house while we were down for the wedding. The morning we were getting ready to leave for Zion, Grandma went to the grocery store and passed by this yard sale on her way home. She couldn't pass up this $5 bike with flat tires, so she stopped and snatched it up. When she got home, grandpa aired up the tires and handed it over to Levi, who had never ridden a bike without training wheels - or even really tried. And...off he went. He was a pro! And he was so excited! So, now we have a bike rider!
