How Does Your Garden Grow?

This is the first year I have planted a garden at our house. Previous summers have been spent working on the yard, but this spring my parents gave me seeds, tools, and gardening gloves for Easter and I knew I wanted to try a garden.
This is my first harvest. I was so proud I had to take a picture! It's ok if you are laughing.
A garden is a lot of work! It took a while to even get the ground ready. Ok, the truth is Jeff did that part, and if he wouldn't have I would've never got started. But I've taken care of it since. I even measured, ordered, and put together a drip system for watering! I go out nearly every day after I exercise and weed a little here and there. Lately it has been much more fun because I come back with vegetables when I'm done!
Yesterday I picked my first good batch of tomatoes (I planted Roma) so I decided to make salsa. I got the ingredients out of my very own garden! Tomatoes, green peppers, cilantro, onion, jalapenos, and anaheim peppers.
I added some garlic and spices and ended up with pretty much the best fresh (organic! no pesticides!) salsa you have ever tasted. Ok, that might be a personal opinion, but it sure was fun!

Can you send some of your organic salsa my way?!?! Looks so good! Way to go with your garden! I have thought about doing one but i doubt I would be able to keep anything alive, let alone keep it looking edible! ;) Everything looks picture perfect!

do you know I'm not even laughing because I am sooo jealous that you have such a beautiful garden!! That's actually going to be my goal for next year. man you're just an inspiration all around. Plus what's a farm with horses, pigs, cows, chickens, etc without vegetables growing? Maybe I should be saying, It's about time!

Wow!!! I am totally impressed..your garden is beautiful! I should do one, but I hate gardening. I need to take better care of my flower beds before I do something like that. Great job, your veggies look awesome!

I too LOVE my garden! Although, mine doesn't look as neat as yours by this time of the season! There is just something about growing your own veggies! It is pretty rewarding.

I am impressed! Next year when Tyce isn't so small, I might plant a garden. You are just out doing yourself this summer with the fair, running, and gardens! TAKE A BREAK!

Very impressive! I might just have to take a trip down to Nephi to try some of that salsa! Homemade salsa with fresh veggies is the best! Your garden looks incredible and I am totally jealous!
