Camping!

It's not that I hate camping - I don't. It's just that camping is NOT a vacation. It is a lot of work before, during, and after. Everything is more complicated when you're camping: Cooking, cleaning, eating, sleeping, and dressing just to name a few. However, I love being in the mountains and I especially love spending the time and making the memories with my family, so off we go. Our destination this time around was Salina canyon where Jeff's dad has some cabin property.
We rode 4-wheelers, hiked, got really dirty, roasted marshmallows, and went exploring. One day we rode down to Salina to drop a saddle off at Burns' Saddlery for repair. The kids loved the 'cowboy store.' We got ice cream at the local drive-in before heading back to camp. The weather couldn't have been better and we all had a really good time. Because his cousins have a cabin there, this is Jeff's annual hunting destination so he knows the trails really well.
We stayed with Jeff's parents in their trailer, which was great. Grandma even shared her makeup with Daisy! It was Craig's birthday so we had birthday cake and sang. Jeff's sister and her family came up from Green River for the celebration. The biggest highlight of the trip may have been when Jeff discovered that my camera has a timer! I was ecstatic!
Jeff and his dad worked on clearing the ground for a trailer pad. Levi's favorite part was riding in the 'tracker' with his dad. We ran into Jeff's cousins which ended up being so much fun. Paul and Stacy and their family joined us for dinner and roasting marshmallows. The next day Daisy could hardly wait to play with her new friends. We can't wait to get together again.

Everyone is trying to get some camping in before summer is over! Looks like you guys had a great time. I was glad to hear that I wasn't the only one (even though Shane would disagree) who thinks camping is NOT a vacation. As long as everyone has a good time, I won't complain too much about all the work.

First off I just need to comment on Levi's cute little bum. That is the greatest picture ever! Those scenery pics are amazing. What a beautiful place, and you all look so great. I agree with Midndy Tash, you are looking VERY thin! Are you sure that you are eating???
Anyhow, I am glad that you all had a great holiday.

Yes...usually the husband doesn't get why the wife doesnt like to camp as much as he does...it is a lot of work...you almost need a vacation after the camp trip! I totally agree with you, but yes, if everyone has a good time, it makes it worth all the dirty laundry, packing, unpacking, etc!!! Looks fun..jared's family reunion is this weekend at Fish Lake...i think Jared & bray might go, but me & kambers just might ride up for the day...she is at a hard camping age ( still crawling/stumbling/walking... that would be no fun!). Glad you guys had a good trip before the summer dissapears right before our eyes! :)

I hear ya,camping is a lot of work! But some of my best memories growing up are camping with my family. Rich and I need to go camping more often!

I did get your email about getting together. When Rich has a spare minute we would love to meet up with you guys. Sundays are probably the best days for us. He just got a job at University Hospital and he'll be working there on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00pm-7:00am. So,he wont home much on the weekends. And when he's home he'll probably be sleeping! Fun for me huh!

Tasha-
We had so much fun with all of you at the property! I am so glad that you were so kind to invite us for dinner! My kids loved having Daisy and Levi to play with and now they will think that they need to be there everytime. Stacey
