To usher in the Fall festivities, we made the trek to the Big Red Barn to visit the pumpkin patch for family home evening. We love the Big Red Barn. There's something about fall and pumpkins and apples and cider that feels so good.
Isaac made sure Grandma had a good friend on the hay ride.
Grandma's much-anticipated annual Halloween Party was a huge success. There was all sorts of spooky costumes, games and food.
Our cousins from Green River even made the trek for the big party. Isaac LOVES Ross, and was so happy he was here to visit for a few days.
Each of the kids got to perform a Halloween dance at the annual autumn craft fair. Daisy was a zombie and danced to a Halloween limbo song.
Isaac danced to "Monster Mash" and was the cutest monster on the stage. When we received instructions to dress him as a monster, we considered just hanging a sign around his neck that read "Monster As Is. No Costume Needed."
Two of our little spooks.
Levi was Thor this year, and fit the part perfectly. It's amazing how he falls right into character when he puts this costume on. He performed to "This is Halloween" and was great on stage.
I was the reader at the Halloween Storytime at the library. I made a very chubby mechanic, and I was glad to have two of the cutest Avengers as my sidekicks.
I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, and I refuse to spend money for this
so-called 'holiday.' Luckily for my kids, my mom got them each killer
costumes this year. They loved having something to wear that suited
each of them.
We grew our pumpkins in our garden this year, and the kids were so excited to finally carve them. Levi insisted on doing his all by himself, and I was a little nervous about my knife-wielding six-year-old, but he did a great job and he was oh so proud.
Dad got home from clinicals late that night, so his pumpkin didn't get carved, but we let him sit in our family picture anyway.
On Halloween, Isaac got to go on an adventurous wagon ride at his playgroup Halloween party.
Then we went to watch the Costume Parade at the elementary school.
That night we were more than ready to finally go trick-or-treating. The kids loaded up. I think we have enough candy to last until Easter...if I can keep Jeff out of it.
Happy Halloween!
