Storage, Superheros, Stars, and Saturday Rides

Between the earthquake in Haiti, the state of the economy, and a bomb threat at the high school, we decided it was time to revise our family emergency plan. We found tons of great resources at the local library at at the Church's http://www.providentliving.org website. We had a family home evening and put together these 72 hour food kits. Hopefully they sit on the shelf and go bad like the last set did, but if not we have them just in case.
We sent Levi to play at his cousin's house for a little while and they brought back Spiderman. We're not sure when Levi will be back, but this guy is pretty amazing. He insists on remaining in disguise. The Spiderman suit does not come off day or night, not even for his sports (dance) class. When he must remove the mask to eat or drink (or brush his teeth) he insists that we call him 'Peter Parker.' He can climb walls (or so he thinks) and balance across the back of the couch. We have to watch our step because we never know when we might find ourselves in the tangle of his web. The one thing we don't have to worry about is bad guys. He takes care of all of them.

Daisy is the "Star of the Week," which, in case you haven't been around a 5-year-old in a while, is a VERY big deal. Every day we pin her "VIP" tag on and ship her off to school to be her important self.
We spent Saturday afternoon on a family horse ride. It was beautiful! I've never been on a trail ride in the snow. The kids did great, and so did the horses. The weather was so nice that we were peeling off our coats on the way in. I, of course, forgot my camera, but we are all looking forward to some good spring rides.
