Good Things to Come

I read a short piece at the end of the October Ensign titled "Good Things to Come" that reminded me of a fantastic address from Elder Holland that I studied in preparation for an Institute lesson.  Take a second and watch the clip here.  As the time with our brand new Titus passes all too quickly, I am continually reminded that there are good things to come.

It is still so strange to realize that I am the mother of THREE sons.  I am thrilled to think about all the good things to come with three boys at this house.

It hung on for a long time, but Titus finally lost his umbilical stump at 18 days, so he got to have his first bath.  His birth weight was a nice, small 6 pounds, 14 ounces.  At his two-week well-baby check, he weighed a whopping 8 pounds 5 ounces!  Woah!  It feels like we are moving out of the "newborn" phase into the "infant" phase with the loss of the brand newborn things and all of this healthy weight gain.  And as much as I want to hold on to every moment of my newborn, I trust in and look forward to all the good things to come.

And even with the arrival of an angel, real life continues.  Levi had another tough wrestling tournament last Saturday where he had to work really hard to stay on top.  He placed second.

Daisy took a photo of Titus and wrote a poem about him for the Creative Arts Contest at school.  Her entries took second and third.
Tiny man Titus is angelic.  I cannot get enough of him.  He oftentimes self-soothes by sucking his thumb, which is simply adorable.  He spends most of his time being held since none of us can stand to let him lie there without being loved on.  As his due date came and went this week, I couldn't help but feel so thankful for his safe arrival and the joy he has already brought to our family.  And I felt the reassuring gratitude of good things to come.
