Sparkles Rope

For Christmas this year, Santa brought Daisy a pony. He tied it to our front door and when Daisy looked out on the front porch she didn't know what to think! When we asked her what she wanted to name it, she couldn't think of anything. Then when one of her cousins suggested "Sparkles" she lit up and announced that her pony would be named Sparkles Rope. And trust me - you are not allowed to leave off the 'Rope' part. The cold weather has seemed endless for her because she can't ride her pony every day. Yesterday she rode for the first time 'by herself' which means riding without Jeff or I leading her. She reined and rode alone. She was so excited and so proud. Afterward when she curried the pony off she told her, "Thanks for the ride!" I don't think there is anything that could make her happier than being on the back of Sparkles Rope.

WOW! I am impressed that you let her ride it alone. I am glad that Sparkles Rope behaved though and didn't try to take off with her.
I also got your contract and I will be emailing you soon with the one that I picked. (The 25th is my B-Day and I would love to spend it with all of you!)

I was just remembring the very first (and only) time I ever rode a horse... Laurens house with her little sister that just jumped on the horse with no saddle and had that thing running as fast as it could. I was soo scared when the one I was on started moving! Yeah im kinda a city gal!!

That is so funny Mindy said that because I just found those pictures of her on Curly the other day! Don't worry I am gathering a ton of pics to post!!! Oh and I still can't decide which option I like the best on our contract.

When I read your post it made me really emotional. I started thinking of my dad and how he is going to miss all of my kids first real rides on their horses. At his funeral all of the grandkids sang a song called "The Ride" by Chris Ledoux. The song is about not being scared and just enjoying the ride. The lessons in this song are the lessons that my dad taught me when I was little riding my horses. Check out the song if you get a second.

Jana - Now you made me emotional! I know the song you are talking about. You made me think of the time your dad spent with Tyse before he sent him down to you and the lessons he taught him there.
